As Jen attempts to go about her daily routine, the reality of what she has done begins to catch up with her.

Following the birth of her baby, Jen's feelings of isolation are palpable. A narrative and performance driven short film directed by Geej Ower, Five Weeks explores the vulnerable psyche of a new mother and the emotional strain that early motherhood can have on a woman.

Geej Ower explains: ’I've always felt like that early period of motherhood has been misrepresented on screen. The narratives around postpartum mental health are often over-dramatised and taken to the extreme. I wanted to tell a truer, smaller story but one with dangerously high stakes. One where on this particular day, in a moment of utter despair, she just makes a terrible decision.'
