When Paul, a lonely and uptight trans guy, falls from his 5 story window he’s rescued by Grace, the trans woman whose boot he’s been living inside. Grace wears the high rise boots as a side hustle as she walks the streets of a shifting, bustling metropolis. An allegory for gentrification - the boots make it easy for developers to move entire tower blocks when an areas’ prices go up - Thigh Rise explores the changing relationship between trans people and the city. Conflict arises in the form of Grace’s giant cis boyfriend who’s caught making moves on her best friend Alicia. When Paul is returned to his empty flat he feels inspired by his brush with something bigger - leading to a literal leap of faith and a happy ending for him and Grace (for now)
