Chronicling the inherent love shared between women during the lulls and intermissions often found in the intrinsic mundanity of life, Girls In Interlude is a poetic short that intimately studies these incidental moments of introspection and togetherness, documenting their inconspicuous beauty.

The sentimental film serves as a documentation of these incidental moments of introspection, capturing their inconspicuous beauty. The intimate study is a homage to the nuance of the private inner worlds of girls & women. A celebration of the vulnerability girls offers up with ease in the presence of one another. Its visual style ventures on dreamlike and utilises film aesthetics to establish a nostalgia that transforms the moving image into memory. And the short (an amalgamation of VHS footage, black & white 35mm and cinematic scenes) takes a collaborative approach that serves as its backbone, weaving the works of numerous female artists and thinkers in both the voiceovers and films selected. Additionally, each girl featured completed a roll of film on Ivie's camera, which they passed on to another girl they knew intimately, creating a daisy chain. At its core, it is a testimony to the complexity and intricacy of the female experience.
