At the end of the horizon a singing cicada is born. Its flying is short, yet its chanting is eternal.

Represented by the symbolic world of nature, Wind whisperer, through a folk- legend tale narrative way, describes the fragile sparkle of life and the transformation of the passing state of a cicada. The cicada share her instinctive journey through love, growth, acceptance, transformation, death and infinity.

“Testigo del Viento” is a Stop motion animated short film, itis a handcrafted work that uses technology for support through photography, lighting and sound design.

Ecuadorian director Ferri Caceido notes: 'The characters and elements were made with textiles, paper, beads and seeds. This animated project has the character of an offering, as it was made with the purpose of finding a positive personal meaning to the effects of the death of a loved one. The reason why textiles are fundamental in the conception of the work, is the legacy received in my formation in my mother's family. It was a daily practice for the women in my family to go to my grandmother's house and in her company learn to sew, mend, darn our clothes, listen to each other and knit together, accompany and repair each other.

The characters in “Testigo del Viento” were elaborated under this premise and each one symbolizes the intimate and emotional relationship with the deceased women who inspired the film. The cicada and its song symbolize the desire to live. The lily flower is a vessel that nestles tranquility, where pain is transformed into gratitude. The skull symbolizes the tree of life, which with the raw material of time becomes fertile soil where life germinates once again.'
