On Venus, the sun rises in the west and sets in the east. On Earth, Amber tries to bury the memory of Kei but comes up against the most beautiful viruses.
VENUS CHILD is a retro-futuristic film bathed in an end-of-the-world atmosphere about memory and mourning. Between fantasy and science fiction, Amber vacillates between loss and inner awakening.
The French director Helio Pu notes: 'In 2020, I experienced love and the end of love. VENUS CHILD is a queer love utopia and a global celebration of the queer community. Let me share a poem I wrote at the beginning of the writing process.
here's an out-of-the-box
unbridled, almost mythical figure
who escapes the diktats of society
they are the kind who refuses to conform
to be a punk is to say no
and in this categorical refusal
youth is distinguishable
yes, it’s there, alive and well.
