Born in Xi’an, China, and arriving in France at the age of ten, Helio is a Chinese-French filmmaker who draws inspiration across multiple cultures and languages to expand the borders of the imagination and broaden our perception of time and memory. Helio has distinguished themself as a director, editor, and actor, shaping around twenty films with singular aesthetics spanning from action to comedy, through drama, horror, music video, experimental, and documentary. They also starred as an actor in Valentine Cadic’s The Summer Holidays which was shortlisted for the French Césars. In 2023, their graduation film from La Fémis, Every Heaven in Between premiered at the Festival Côté Court of Pantin in France and was broadcast on the Nowness Asia platform in June 2024.
