Somayeh Jafari is an Iranian born director and photographer who has grown up in England. Her work combines her eye for the cinematic moment with her documentary experience of today's Britain. Her personal history is often layered into her work, sometimes raw, often poetic. The story of her own heritage and self-identity often becomes interlaced with her subject matter to produce an intimate and very feminine language on-screen.
The Wound Is Where The Light Enters, featuring actors Pippa Melody and Tyler Conti was a catalyst after a break up of her 7-year long relationship.
