Three strands: care, kinship and land — braided into a visual meditation on what it means to both give and receive in ways that sustain the earth forever.

A filmic ode to Robin Wall Kimmerer's 'Braiding Sweetgrass', this visual meditation captures the profound metaphor of braiding — where each strand both supports and is supported — revealing the sacred dance of reciprocity that flows through all unseen connections: between women, between kin, between all beings who nurture one another.

Born from the creative sisterhood of its directors, their filmmaking process embodies the book's central wisdom: that relationships thrive through mutual care and balanced exchange. They approached creation with the belief that their posture during making mattered as much as the outcome itself. What emerged was not just a film but a weaving of our conversations, encouragement, and mutual support — a love letter to each other that extends as an offering to the greater sisterhood and a prayer for those unseen yet palpable connections that sustain us all.

Released intentionally on the spring equinox, this work stands as both testament and invitation: honouring the women who have nurtured and protected each other through life's seasons, while extending a gentle call to join in the necessary and healing practice of reciprocity with our more-than-human kin.
