An experimental film by Venezuelan director Ana Diaz Pennimpede SAÜDADE reflects internal feelings of transitions between characters that represent one being. Intertwining nostalgia and cultural identity as experienced by emigration, movie made in a magical surrealism tradition speaks of manifestations rooted in the land of one's birth and through a religion, in particular a devotion to San Antonio and his tamunangue. Largely set between a house and a beach, the character's emotional arc is conceived through her artistic practice, paintings of blue forms.
Pennimpede says: This is the relationship that we have internally of all the 'I' in its different stages and the transit of the states of attachment, nostalgia, vulnerability, denial, pain, acceptance and finally the scope of liberation.
