A comedy short about a misophonic woman's sensory overload which quickly turns into a horror after being trapped next to a loud eater

CRUNCH is a comedy short based on misophonia, a condition where people suffer extreme physical and emotional reactions to sound and is particularity prominent within the neurodiverse community. As a member of this community, the director Holly Hunter was inspired to make this film after a personal encounter of being trapped next to a loud crisp eater on the train.

Holly says: 'I wanted to reflect the overpowering effect this sound has on me, getting deep into my skull and taking over my body and senses in a way that's hard to ignore. It is often hard to express how intense the impact of misophonia can be so I wanted to bring it to life in a playful, light hearted and engaging way.

I wanted to bring to life the experience of misophonia in an insightful, engaging and slightly surreal way  to increase awareness, to provide a voice for the many who find this experience  so difficult to express in words, and to encourage us all to munch more carefully!'
