Letao Chen (b. 2000, Beijing) is a Chinese American new media storyteller and filmmaker residing in London. Her work uncovers the absurdity within today’s mundane, without any limits in medium. Raised by her working-class, immigrant single mother in the suburb of Edina, Minnesota, Letao saw image-making as a device to gain agency over her own identity.With a BA from Emerson College in Film Production and an MA from Central Saint Martins in Fashion Communication, Letao stands at the intersection of what is provocative in fashion and genuine in storytelling. During her career, she has created viral YouTube video essays, collaborated with Puma x Open YY as a 3D filmmaker, and worked on projects with Myami Studio and Lauren Greenfield.
