Chloe, a high school swimmer gets her period before practice. She struggles with her tampon, is pestered by a teammate, and has a moment of connection with her swim coach.

American director Christa Haley notes: 'Swim Captain is inspired by my experiences as a swimmer and co-captain of my high school swim team. We filmed in the locker room that I used in high school (at the local state college, SUNY Plattsburgh). It was important to me to portray a late teen who feels uncomfortable in her own body. At film festivals, audience members have approached me to share their personal stories about tampons, virginity, and menstruation. After feeling alone and ashamed with these issues, it’s been incredible to have an instant connection with others who feel the same way.'
