The band Graveyard Club and the director Bianca Poletti have been close friends for a long time so a collaboration on a music video was long overdue. Finally an opportunity came for a track from their latest album 'Moonglow'. Bianca was at the time shooting commercial in Mexico City when she came across an incredible house while scouting. The house was empty but in it every room looked like from different era. They didn't end up using the house for a shoot and she only had one day in between two back-to-back shoots but she couldn't get the house out of her head. So she wrote the idea for the video based on that location with inspiration being movies like 'A ghost Story.'
Bianca further says: 'There are these spaces that we grow up in, that see so many aspects and moments of our life, and I wanted to explore that with 'Moonglow' and have it be explored via light and dance. So, I called my close dancer friend Matilda and asked my reps in Mexico City if they'd help pay for it and produce it. Giving them 48 hours to put it all together, they said yes (thankfully ha). We flew Matilda in from NYC the night before the shoot, we cast her counterpart Hector within a day, and I cast him just based off of his IG and dance videos. Matilda created the dance moments based off of the story I built, which was about a girl re-visiting her childhood home and re-living all of the moments in the house, unable to escape her memories. She rehearsed with Hector for 4 hours and then they ran to fittings, and we had 6 hours, to shoot it all. With loading in and out, truly more like 4 hours. Everyone hustled and it was just such a magical time, with everyone on board fully, just to create.'
