Sarah and her girlfriend Tony are getting ready for a warehouse party when Sarah brings up the question of polyamory. She has a secret crush on her housemate Hedvig, and wants to open her relationship up so she can pursue her crush. While Tony tells Sarah that she only wants to be with her, Hedvig (they/them) is out on the dance floor, looking for their lost hamster, Plip. Hedvig joins Sarah and Tony in their room, and Sarah quickly tries to set the mood for a threesome. Tony resists, but Hedvig is keen, and soon the threesome starts. Sarah is first overjoyed, but then horrified when it becomes apparent that Hedvig is on their period. Sarah doesn't like period sex, but the other two don't mind it. A discussion about patriarchal attitudes sets a stopper for the threesome.
The film is shot in a North-London habited warehouse, partly during a techno rave, and features Anna Tolstoy from "We Are Lady Parts S2" as Hedvig. It is a micro-budget short, shot on a Sony Alpha III mirrorless camera for a total budget of 700 pounds.
The director Nora Dahle Borchgrevink notes: 'The story is inspired by the community of queer women in the North-London warehouse district, and the statement "you can't be a feminist if you don't like period sex". I overheard someone argue about this, and I thought it was an incredibly funny thing to say. Probably it is wrong: people's relationship to blood is complicated, and everyone should be able to listen to what they like or don't. At the same time, it's a complicated issue. I've heard audiences gasp with repulsion when I've screened this film, and from the conversations I've had with people while making it, and after, it is clear that period blood provokes different feelings than normal blood - there is more disgust, and there is more shame, connected to our periods. This turned out to be an ideal starting point to make a short comedy about the queer women in their 20s and 30s that I am surrounded with. I also wanted to document the warehouse I lived in at the time, as it is such an unusual and London-specific place. Every couple of months, a rave will transform the domestic space into what looks like a club, and the bedrooms become scenes for horny dramas.'
