Born and raised between Copenhagen and Charlotte, North Carolina, Leen is a Brooklyn-based singer songwriter who mixes nostalgic soul with contemporary R&B on female-empowered narratives. Leen is also a creative director who has self-directed all of her music videos in collaboration with Ashleigh Alexandria aka The Virgin Artiste, an artist who explores gender and race through the painting of bodies.
Leen and Alexandria paired up once again to create this hypnotic video for Orbit, an atmospheric R&B track featuring rapper Honey and produced by Mike Swoop of Onyx collective. The film was shot on location between Brooklyn and Queens, NY. With a mix of Afro Futurism and a 90s nostalgic feel, the sexy and gritty visuals take the viewer on an out-of-body experience. Leen finds herself in different spaces in time, connecting to her higher self, surrounded by badass, beautiful and divine feminine energy.
Ashleigh Alexandria: “Orbit touches on the transformational power of being in the moment. How we are able to create our own worlds by tapping into the power within for strength and guidance. The elements of hard and soft created a balance that speaks to the beauty that we possess when we as women, live in our truth.”
Leen: “The grittiness of New York paired with the divine feminine energy adds an undeniable rawness that should be seen through the lens of a woman. Honor the visions in your head by bringing them to life.”
