Two best friends making their way home from the party must grapple with recurring visions of the past

With the remnants of the night before settling in, two best friends must make their way home from a party in a field off the London's M25.  Making their way through the spaces which exist between the motorway and the trees, one of the two begins to experience an overpowering visitation from the past and the two friends must face this together, testing their friendship and their limits.

In her debut short film, photographer Flora Scott reminisces and draws from her old coming-of-age experience: 'Grief is a lifelong journey, one that jolts you in the dark when you least expect it, tinges your perception in subtle ways or sits close by at all times. We miss them and that doesn’t just go away. Coming to terms with it is what makes it ultimately something lighter, something bearable and something to learn from. This film is in many ways the beginning of me creating the worlds I want to create and in other ways the accumulation of the photography work I have been making since I was 16, running around with my dads hand me down camera. As a latchkey kid with no siblings, changed indefinitely by the loss of my mother, seeking a sense of belonging and joy through the open doors of my friends and their families became essential. My camera became my ultimate companion to help me document life as this developed into my teenage-hood. Creating a film rooted in through these experiences, in the experiences of my loved ones, both first hand and second hand, both empathetic grief and direct, through misunderstanding and complete presence (which is sometimes all we can offer), felt important to me. I thank Connie Swift and Ella Bardot (who star in High Beams), for putting their trust in me, sharing with me their own histories which ultimately would leave a welcomed mark on both characters as they came alive on set. Connie has never acted before, never been on camera in this capacity and she has done a moving job as her debut performance. I’m honoured.'
