Filmmaker, Simi Abe, has always had a love for stories and storytelling. Her interests lie in the power of language – how it can excite and surprise. Simi looks to poetry for that very reason – to understand what language is capable of. Simi is endlessly fascinated by the craft of storytelling and assembling words. So much so, she graduated with a degree in Creative Writing in 2018. After which, she wrote and directed a short film, Black Fish, commissioned by the BBC.
