Roxana Stroe

Roxana Stroe is a London-based Romanian filmmaker. She holds an MA in Film Directing from the National University of Theatre and Cinema in Bucharest and later continued her studies at the National Film and Television School (NFTS) in the UK.Her graduation film, A Night in Tokoriki, premiered at the 2016 Berlinale, where it won the Special Generation 14+ Jury Award. The film has been selected for over 100 festivals, including prestigious ones like San Sebastian, Karlovy Vary, AFI FEST, Edinburgh and Cork International Film Festival.Her next project, Appalachia, was selected for the Euro Connection program at Clermont-Ferrand in 2020. A French – Romanian – Belgian co-production, Appalachia was supported by CNC and WBImages, and later acquired by Canal+.
