Mehak Matharu

Mehak Matharu is a 23yr old filmmaker based out of Assam, India. She was born and brought up in a small town called Jorhat. She did her schooling from The Assam Valley School, Tezpur and proceeded to finish her graduation from Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology.Growing up, she did not quite understand overwhelming emotions and feelings and that is when she started looking at them as stories and tried to make sense of them through filmmaking and photography. She finds herself intrigued by human behavior. How they love one another, get angry, hold objects and places close to their hearts, remember and forget bits of their childhood, feel sad and lonely, write letters and postcards to one another. She attempts to be able to capture the essence of those emotions through her work.
