My name is Lola, I am a writer-director based in South East London and also work at the film company Iconoclast in the development team. My work so far tends to oscillate between drama and comedy and often explores life in late stage capitalism. My background as an artist is mainly in theatre but I'm beginning to throw my hat in the ring as a filmmaker. I am a graduate of the Royal Welsh, Old Vic Theatre Makers and the Royal Court Writers’ Group. My short plays have been featured at venues such as the Pleasance and the Lyric Hammersmith. I am currently under commission by Three Sisters Productions to modernise a 19th-century play and by the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama to write a short film.
