Flo Meijer is a Rotterdam-based filmmaker and a 2021 graduate of Central Saint Martins in London. Her graduation film A Fashion Story explores themes of Dutch identity, youth culture, the contrast between the big city and the countryside, sustainable fashion, and how fashion film relates to narrative. The film has been screened at (fashion) film festivals such as ASVOFF Paris, Fashion Film Festival Milano, Amsterdam Fashion Film Festival, and Grrl Haus Cinema Berlin. Instead of filming grand, extraordinary events, Flo's films explore the absurdity of everyday life. Small, often overlooked stories. Fashion is a recurring element in Flo's work, but always part of a bigger picture and always related to people and their stories, never as an isolated phenomenon. Besides directing, Flo is managing director of the production company mint2, founded in 2022.
