Alicja is a Polish filmmaker based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her films tend to be influenced by magic realism and satirical comedy. In 2018, she graduated with a BA (Hons) in Film from Screen Academy Scotland. In 2019, she was selected for the BellRock Writers' Residency of Creative Scotland to develop her first feature-length original screenplay and attended Rotterdam International Film Festival to pitch her project in 2020. Most recently, the short comedy-drama 'Canberra, Bitch' which Alicja wrote and directed, screened as part of the 'New Visions' competition at the Edinburgh International Film Festival 2022, at Underdog Film Festival Wolfsburg 2023 and Women X Film Festival 2023.
