It spreads through the crowd (2016) was originally an audio-visual installation. It explores the frenetic energy of people in crowds and on stage, and dancing as both a cathartic and compulsive act. The two videos act as a kind of loose ‘call and response’ between performer (video 1 describes part of Nina Simone’s 1976 Montreux concert) and audience (video 2 contains footage of a crowd at a Hot 8 Brass Band gig).
