Vida Breže is an award-winning director, writer and actor. She holds a Master’s degree in Directing Fiction from Goldsmiths College, London. Vida also graduated in Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Ljubljana Faculty of Arts. Her extensive knowledge of culture and the arts informs her visual eloquence. Her background as an actor (and before that as a ballerina and choreographer) explains her considerable abilities in directing performance, and her facility with mise-en-scène. She has been successfully acting on screen for the past 19 years and directing/scriptwriting for the past 8 years. Her latest short films, the prize-winning Sapper Smith and A Matter of Minutes, both enjoyed a very successful run on the festival circuit. As an actor herself, she is passionate about achieving a genuine and authentic performance by the actors she works with. She is deeply committed to achieving the highest value of visual aesthetic combined with compelling storytelling.
