Matilda Finn is a London-based music video director that doesn't like explaining her work, rather leaving it open to the viewer for interpretation. We're particularly left searching for answers with her cryptic video for Sophie Hunger's Tricks, but it feels good. The video begins with a woman in mourning at the bedside of a deceased older relative in muted surroundings. A second glance at the body and it has changed into a young woman. What follows is an intense adrenaline-filled car rally in a Ukrainian forest, where everybody - from the driver, the co-driver to the cheering crowds - is female. Finn's visuals are captivating as usual, drawing us into a surreal dreamscape of simmering undertones.
