Ally Pankiw

Ally Pankiw is a writer/director who got her start making music videos for artists like Ariana Grande, Janelle Monae, The Vamps, Arkells and Lil Jon. Since, she has directed for top brands like Amazon, Pepsi, CBC, CB2, Differin, Chanel and NYLON. Ally has written on the hit series, Schitt’s Creek, and is now developing an original comedy series with its creator, Dan Levy and Imagine Entertainment. Two of her short films have been funded by BravoFACT and played at international festivals including Outfest, Inside Out, The LA Comedy Fest and Frameline, and in 2017 she directed the CBC's Terrific Women, a digital comedy series that was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for best digital series. She also just released another CBC digital series, which she directed called An Awkward Girl Dates. She is currently developing her first feature, a dark dramedy called Brooke & Sam, with Canada’s Harold Greenberg Fund, the OMDC and Barn 12 Inc. And she was one of Film Independent’s 2018 Directing Lab fellows for her feature, The Hiding House, which she is currently developing in the US.
